First to go is the heat dissipator on the top - tore that off with the pliers. Then I crushed the staked rods & supports that held the mica top spacer on, and... tore it off. Now the real guts are exposed. I should be able to see right down inside there where the grid, screen and heater stuff is... Tube keeps falling over, so it goes into a spare socket to keep it upright.
